Video Interview: RDGLDGRN

Hey guys!

Whilst touring with The Arkanes last month, we had a day off in Berlin.
But as a blogger there's no such thing as a day off when you're in Berlin, one of my favourite music cities.
What I love the most about Berlin is the fact that there is always something to do as a music journalist.

This time I met up with RDGLDGRN at Virgin Music Office.

RDGLDGRN (pronounced Red Gold Green) are a three piece band from Virginia, USA.
The band mixes and blends multiple genres such as indie go-go, rap, bits of punk and rock.

Each member of RDGLDGRN stands for a colour:
Red (guitar)
Gold (bass)
Green (vocals)

In 2011 the group self-released their song "I Love Lamp" which reached 100 000 views within a few weeks.
With that they caught the attention of producer Kevin Augunas (The Lumineers, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros) who quickly signed them and produced their debut.

Whilst the group was working at the legendary Sound City Studio in Van Nuys, CA, another legend got involved in the recording process of their record, Dave Grohl. Former Nirvana drummer and front man of Foo Fighters plays the drums on each song of the record except on one.

Their most recent hit "Doing The Most" was co-written and co-produced by none other than Pharell Williams.

During their promo time in Berlin we had a little chat. Watch what the guys say about music video ideas, social media, boxing with crew members and a lot more.

Curious what the band sounds like?
