Hey guys,
I still remember how early last year the world discovered Tom Odell, a young British lad with a voice that got most of us drooling.
Around the same time this year we all did the same again and discovered George Ezra - another young British lad with another voice we can drool over.
The singer/songwriter from Bristol has been around for a little longer though. BBC Bristol started playing his music back in 2012, in 2013 he played at Glastonbury.
And again it was the dudes from BBC who listed George under 'Sound Of 2014' and apparently they were right, once again.
And now George Ezra is here with his debut album 'Wanted On Voyage'.
Is it worth the hype?

The record welcomes you with the upbeat 'Blame It On Me', a perfect summer tune. Finger clicking, rather simple but rhythmic guitar strums, a catchy riff howling every once in a while and, of course, George's voice - the element that just controls the song. Strong, expressive, great.
'Budapest' is probably the song most of you have already heard. The Hungarian capital apparently makes a brilliant tune. A simple but catchy melody, laid back instrumentation and the oh so deep vocals hitting higher notes, a brilliant mixture.
The bluesy vibe leads through the whole album, sometimes it's more acoustic based. 'Listen To The Man' is the perfect example for that; a calm song with lyrics that will make a lot of hearts melt.
'Did You Hear The Rain?' keeps it calm and mysterious for during the intro but then bursts into a slightly rock inspired track with a quite heavy, nearly dirty atmosphere.
'Stand By Your Gun' even gets funky and is most definitely going to make you move. The variety is absolutely satisfying.
To sum it up: Yes, George Ezra's voice is potentally THE leading part of his music, but don't underestimate his writing skills and the clever arrangements. Take time to listen to the album and you'll find a few jewels.
