house in the sand: Was ist da passiert?

Adrian: Da gibt’s zwei, drei, vier …

house in the sand: Erzähl!

Max: Du hast vier, fang du mal an!

house in the sand: Zukunftspläne?

Elias: Album, Album, Album.

Translation:

house in the sand: Is there a songwriter in the group?

Elias: Yeah, that's Max and me.

house in the sand: Alright then please tell us - was there any crazy place where you've gotten an idea for a song?

Elias: We've got a magical place!

Max: We've got a tiny, hidden house in Köpenick which we go to every once in a while and set up our studio over night and lock the door for four to five days.
You can't do it longer because you'd go insane. It's a bit like "Big Brother" - we can get visitors but can't go outside.
It's a magical place because it's near the water. But actually it's a construction site.
Whenever we go there together we just try to create a place which is either nice or cold, depending on what we need.
And that's the place where we get most of our ideas. Mostly at night, when we're already done and just throw random things at each other.

Elias: During the day there are always some many pretty people around, suntaning. And a lot of people come over to cook for us, it's great!
And magically - that's the best thing about this place - there's always beer in the basement. It's just magical!

Max: There's another place that just came into my mind: the Admiralspalast.

house in the sand: What happened there?

Max: We won the 'FritzNacht der Talente'* and at some point the light twent off and a pretty nice song was created. (*German talent show

house in the sand: Do you have a highlight of your career so far? Something that brought you closer together?

Adrian: There are two, three, four ...

house in the sand: Tell us!

Adrian: Everyone could just tell their personal highlight.

Max: You've got four, you start!

Adrian: For me there have been two things that really got me: the night, Max just described. We've won the 'FritzNacht der Talente', it was 2010 and it was amazing. That really brought us together.
And the second thing is signing a contract with a mayor label. That's what you dream of as a small boy starting to play an instrument.

Max: For me it was the acoustic tour, to speak about what brought us together. When you spend every single day with the same people and you can't leave then you have to make the best of it.
It was also really interesting musically because we were forced to work with the sound intensity, its' dynamic and the

It really gets close to you when you wake up after a song because you were in it. That was really nice and I've learnt quite a lot from the boys.

Elias: For me it was the Uebel&Gefährlich in Hamburg. That was fun, there was a big stage with lots of room and we've reached a lot of people.
And Spain! Driving to Spain with the band was great!
Something like that happens only once. We went there to record our first album. It's like your first love, it's intense.
But it's also shit because you've built up a vision of what you want it to be like to record your first album for years. And then you're doing it and it's not like you imagined it. Not even a tiny bit.
And then you've got the choice to either be angry about it and hate it or you make the best of it and try to be happy.

It's not the results, they are amazing! But it's the process.
It was a highlight because you couldn't leave. In Berlin we could've gone to our friends and tell them how horrible everything is, but in Spain that wasn't possible.
You had no friends there and the people around you only spoke Spanish, so you couldn't talk to them.

There was only the band and when there were problems you had to solve them. It was cool because it was hard.

house in the sand: Plans for the future?

Elias: Album, album, album.

And at this point I'd like to thank Elias, Adrian and Max for taking time to answer my questions and Jasper for making it happen.
